Our little guy Sheldon is growing up so fast. He turned six months old on August 14th. It is crazy how much he has grown since his arrival here. I guess it is all that great fish he has been eating. Since his baby shower at the end of June, Sheldon has been on the big exhibit many times.

As Sheldon grows, our staff is hard at work training new behaviors and providing new experiences. Since he is too young to be on exhibit with his otter brothers we must keep them separated. This Saturday, June 30th, Sheldon will have an opportunity to explore the entire otter exhibit on his own for a limited time. Staff will be nearby to ensure his safety and practice more behaviors.

Wow! In a about two weeks we received over 10,000 votes for the baby otter’s naming contest. We received close to 3,500 individual name suggestions through the comments on the blog, emails, phone calls, and in person. You all have done an amazing job getting creative and made the decision process incredibly difficult!
